Gaining the Respect of Others Essay Example For Students

Picking up the Respect of Others Essay My grandma was an entirely decent individual who was brought up in a decent family with antiquated qualities. Her youth was spent on a ranch in Wisconsin in the mid 1900s and above all she was a decent individual in the network and inside her family. Only a short depiction of my grandma, she was not a tall individual at five foot four however her quality was a lot more extensive than she was tall. Regard is something that a great many people need and a few people truly dont care about it, for my entire life I have endeavored to depict these attributes in everything that I did to pick up her regard. Picking up the regard of older folks in this world isn't simple in light of the manner in which my age was raised. Regard for others has a ton to do with how you treat them. Do you purposely disregard individuals of poor dress and cleanliness? Is it accurate to say that you are kinder to an excellent individual? On the off chance that you are one of these individuals, at that point I feel frustrated about you, despite the fact that those individuals that we generalization as under special individuals may have Fortune 500 Executives who may have lost their positions. No one can really tell that could be us one day and afterward how might you feel about that? That is the reason my grandma consistently instructed me to regard and treat everybody as you would need to be treated by them. I would need to state that I had the best guide for learning the procedure for giving and gaining regard from others. You ought to be caring to people groups sentiments and help out individuals to feel cheerful, presently that is a piece of demonstrating regard. Numerous individuals don't get the best possible regard that they need. Everybody feels that regard for good looks and cash make individuals shallow but then the standard everybody follows in this age. Demonstrating regard for others is to attempt to make a special effort to treat everybody a similar way. Regard is a seven letter word that expects you to offer regard to others seven days per week and one day it might be returned back to you, as it's been said karma is the one thing that returns to you fortunate or unfortunate. The best approach to demonstrate regard is to be caring to individuals and circumspect to them too. Experiencing childhood during the 1970s was totally different, most of individuals on the planet didn't have a consideration on the planet and it was known as the bloom kid time. The regular expressions during this period were harmony, love, pigeon and anything to do with blossoms despite the fact that I grew up during this time I have imparted different convictions. The one thing that I did to pick up my grandmas regard was the point at which I got older woman food supplies that a couple of youngsters had thumped over while she was strolling home on the walkway. The kids never at any point halted to check whether she was okay, that sickened me more than anything on earth around then. After, the older woman was on her way again my grandma took a gander at me and expressed that she was glad for me on account of what I had accomplished for her. Indeed, even today

Raymond George Neher :: essays research papers fc

Since streets, roads, parkways, lanes, and interstates are an ordinary piece of our life, they naturally are a piece of our specialty. In the closer view or the foundation, they secure our specialty to the real world, fill in as images, or wind and turn in manners never envisioned by the creative mind. Raymond Neher utilized streets and interstates as his subject in a large number of his works of art. He started painting for his own advantage, since he â€Å"Enjoyed putting brush to canvas.† Raymond George Neher was conceived in Orange, New Jersey on September 14, 1943; he was the lone youngster to Rudolph Neher and Evelyn Posadzki. Neher was granted his Bachelor of Architecture structure the Carnegie Mellon University and his Masters from the Columbia University. He started his profession as a draftsman in New York City. In 1973 he moved to San Francisco, California, where he took a shot at the Master Plan for a New Community in Ahwaz, Iran. He was notable and acknowledged for his work in authentic reclamations and versatile reuse. His ventures remembered work for workmanship and science exhibition halls, lodgings and spas, emergency clinic and clinical school, just as development organization. As a craftsman his vocation traversed almost 40 years. Neher worked for the most part in acrylic paint on canvas. His works have been appeared in presentations the whole way across the United States of America and are in private assortments all through the United States, just as Amsterdam, Rome and Santorini, Greece. Neher joined the Fort Mason Printmakers in the mid 1980’s and made etchings and monoprints that regularly supplemented his canvas work. A large number of his subjects sprang from his movements around California’s Central Valley Interstate 5 expressway. His roadscapes canvases he made were on photograph quality. The pictures he makes, regardless of whether it is a roadway, a scaffold or a rural road, are in every case liberated from contamination, street slaughter and litter. The works of art are loaded with shading which makes the canvas somewhat dreamlike, as though the picture is simply unrealistic. All his roadscapes are from the point of view an individual in a vehicle out and about, causing the watcher to feel progressively connected with the artistic creation, as though they are really there. The canvas above is called Mount Hood Highway. Neher has utilized such differentiating hues to layer the work of art. His utilization of straight lines and points out and about, pine trees and the snow shrouded mountain out of sight brake up the artistic creation making the work of art be simpler to take in by the watcher.

Artistotle Essays - Social Philosophy, Ancient Greek Philosophers

Artistotle Essays - Social Philosophy, Ancient Greek Philosophers Artistotle Janet Jones Code of Ethics Research Paper Class number 409 Honest Sams Aristotle was an incredible scholar who utilized his thinking capacity and information through others to draw moral suppositions and standards. Aristotle was once for the lessons of Plato until he started to scrutinize his way of thinking. These thoughts lead Aristotle to long periods of composing and showing his work. Aristotle was an educator for a long time at a foundation called Lyceum. Lyceum is the place Aristotle started to seek after a more extensive scope of subjects. He accepted that a man couldn't profess to realize a subject except if he is equipped for transmitting his insight with others. Essentially, instructing for Aristotle was as an appearance of information. Before the finish of the nineteenth century researchers at the institute scrutinized his works. This variety was alive during a time of ruin and debasement yet he didn't permit the morals of man to stop his long for information. I will endeavor to clarify in detail a portion of the morals that Aristotle built up. Proof has demonstrated that Aristotle affected all zones of rationale from workmanship, morals, and mysticism just to give some examples. Craftsmanship is characterized by Aristotle as the acknowledgment in outer type of a genuine thought, and is the delight, which we feel in perceiving similarities. Craftsmanship anyway isn't restricted to minor duplicating. It admires nature and finishes its insufficiencies: it tries to get a handle on the all inclusive sort in the individual wonder. The qualification between idyllic workmanship and history isn't that the one uses meter, and different doesn't. The qualification is that while history is constrained to what has really occurred, verse delineates things in their all inclusive character. Accordingly, verse is more hypothetical and more raised than history. Such impersonation may speak to individuals either as preferable or as more regrettable over individuals for the most part may be, or it might neither go past nor fall beneath the normal norm. Satire is the impersonation of the more regrettable instances of humankind. In any case, not in the feeling of supreme disagreeableness, however just to the extent that what is low and shameful goes into what is ludicrous and comic. Disaster, then again, is the portrayal of a genuine or significant, arriving at activity. Depicting occasions, which energize dread and pity in the brain of the eyewitness to decontaminate these sentiments to expand and control their compassion until it fits. It is accordingly a homeopathic restoring of the interests. To the extent that workmanship, all in all universalizes specific occasions, disaster, in portraying enthusiastic and basic circumstances, takes the spectator outside the egotistical and individual viewpoint, and perspectives them regarding the general part of people. This is like Aristotle's clarification of the utilization of orgiastic music in the love of Bacchas and different gods: it manages an outlet for strict enthusiasm and along these lines steadies one's strict slants. Religion can characterize a people moral guideline. Aristotle saw morals as an endeavor to discover our central end or most elevated great: an end, which he keeps up, is extremely last. Through of life are numerous finishes that assists, our goals and wants must have some last article or interest. A main end is generally called satisfaction. In any case, individuals mean such various things by the articulation that I feel important to talk about joy. First of all, joy must be founded on human instinct, and must start from the realities of individual experience. In this manner, joy can't be found in any theoretical or perfect thought, similar to Plato's self-existing acceptable. It must be something viable and human. It should then be found in the work and life that is one of a kind to people. By and by, this is neither the vegetative life we share with plants nor the touchy presence that we share with creatures. Genuine joy lies in the dynamic existence of a reasonable being or in an ideal acknowledgment and manifestation of the genuine soul and self, proceeded all through a lifetime. Aristotle grows his idea of satisfaction through an examination of the human spirit that structures and quickens a living human living being. The human spirit has a nonsensical component, which is imparted to the creatures, and a judicious component that is particularly human. The most crude nonsensical component is the vegetative personnel, which is answerable for nourishment and

Silicon Field Effect Transistor (ncSiFET) in BEOL

Silicon Field Effect Transistor (ncSiFET) in BEOL Gigantic research endeavors are continuous so as to execute and add further functionalities to processing mixes in CMOS chips. Consequently, a test is forced to contend the current gadgets as far as cost and execution. In this venture, I propose a novel and minimal effort approach for nanocrystalline Silicon Field Effect Transistor (ncSiFET) based memory selector executed in BEOL. During this postulation, the possibility of this innovation regarding execution and creation cost will be set up. Directed mechanical applications : Memory selector transistor One of our exploration bunch exercises in 3IT comprises on the turn of events and incorporation of RRAM with a Complementary Resistive Switch (CRS) planar arrangement in the BEOL of CMOS circuit. My examination action will centers around memory selector creation expected to complete the read activity as resulting and reciprocal capacity. A few mechanical methodologies have been proposed to satisfy this capacity with various physical ideas, for example, diodes, unpredictable switches, nonlinear gadgets and transistors. (cf. figure I.1). Attributable to the planar configurtion and the nanodamascence creation approach of RRAM, our transistor gadget (ncSiFET) will profit by the procedure similarity, with the goal that it very well may be executed in 3D BEOL coordination and associated in sequential to limit parasitic spillage current from unselected cells during a read operation,to give adequate on-current to the exchanging of the chose cell and to forestall visit obstruction activity an d readout blunders. The selector and the memory component ought to be good in term of adaptability to empower restricted spillage current from the unselected memory components along peruse and compose tasks. The prerequisites for a RRAM selector present a few difficulties for suitable reconciliation in an ease CMOS-perfect stackable procedure. A low preparing temperature under 400  °C must be regarded to empower the similarity with 3-D joining in BEOL. The execution of selector gadgets requiring extra procedure steps is went with huge gadget zone and force scattering. Besides, the selector gadgets can cause an abatement in the present and a more slow read activity. A similarity as far as regarding activity extremity (unipolar/bipolar) and exchanging speed between memory components and selector gadgets must be built up [2]. Others angles concerning the unwavering quality, for example, cycling perseverance and fluctuation ought to be taken in thought. Required electrical exhibitions A decent selector needs to fulfill various necessities which are basically gotten from circuit execution angle. The recently accomplished on/off proportion =104 with our (ncSiFET) [3] can be an advantage for memory selector applications since it is on a standard with numerous silicon transistor based selectors [4]. This proportion ought to be improved up to 106, to additionally empower the activity of huge clusters in the design. In addition, a 2.5 ÃŽÂ ¼A/Þâ ¼m esteem as on-current in our gadget [3], which can be additionally upgraded, fits well with the scope of necessity to adequately control the memory activity without speed limitation [5]. While limit voltage should be limited to empower the decrease of the activity spillage. These properties makes the transistor a viable selector as disengagement switch and current limiter. A selector ought to have the option to give enough drive current varying for SET and RESET activities of the resistive memory cell. Strangely, a limit exchanging selector gadget has end up being effective for taking care of the spillage current issue with a low off current Taking every one of these contemplations in account, one can say that (ncSiFET) gadget claims promising qualities and pertinent potential to be incorporated in BEOL for RRAM memory determination applications. In table I.1, we present further qualities in as speed, temperature and electrical exhibitions that ought to be additionally considered during the advancement of our device.Comparison with mechanical contender Silicon transistor based selector : The primary points of interest for this sort of transistors that empower self-consistence are their high ON/OFF proportion with huge drive current, suitable edge voltage and low force utilization. In any case, transistor-based selectors present disadvantages as far as enormous measurements and convoluted procedure manufacture [4]. Poly-Si material has been supplanted by excellent epitaxial PN districts on crystalline Si, so as to accomplish high Ion/Ioff proportion up to 108 and enormous on current over 10MA/cm2 helpful for SET/RESET activity and rectifiying capacity [7], in any case, these unipolar arrangements are not perfect with bipolar exchanging mode resistive recollections. The NPN structure has been proposed to conquer the extremity issue with I on/I off proportion of around 4700 [8]. Be that as it may, as far as possible for these advances is their high procedure temperature, in this way, unacceptable for sub-400 à ¢- ¦C BEOL coordinati on. Metal-oxide schottky diodes: Different creations of metal and oxides, for example, Pt/HfO 2/ZrO 2/TiN or Ni/TiO 2/Ni have been proposed [6]. The conduction system thought to be founded on Schottky discharge at the mateal/oxide interfaces [8]. It was exhibited that (MIM) joining slender oxide film can give non-straight I-V bend. These setups are perfect with bipolar exchanging and appropriate with 3D-stackable BEOL mix. Be that as it may, just low drive current thickness of about 1MA/cm2 is reached. Nonlinear gadgets: Considering the prerequisite to accomplish both high current at high voltage just as exceptionally little current comparing to low voltages, nonlinear gadgets have been proposed. For all the assortments of this class introduced in fig.1, the unpredictability of manufacture process and the material determination stay troublesome difficulties for enormous zone creation and reconciliation [4]. Slight film transistor (TFT): for instance, RRAM (Ti/Oxide stack/Pt) associated with slim film transistor (straightforward nebulous oxide semiconductor (TAOS)) design exhibited great outcomes as present limiter with a capacity ability constrained by the adequacy of the TFT entryway voltage [2]. The TFT as an innovation profit by the diminished temperature, generally straightforward and ease manufacture process. In any case, bearers portability in the channel is the primary issue that cause critical effect on the electrical properties of the subsequent gadget. The transistor exhibitions are seriously influenced by high deformities thickness and transporter trap locales which unequivocally rely upon the crystallinity, the nature of silicon flimsy film (a-Si, Poly-S or nc-Si) . This is a typical tricky to our ncSi channel. (ncSiFET): Our proposed transistor innovation depends on nanodamascene approach, with a nanocrystalline silicon island as a channel isolated from metal S/D by a flimsy passage oxide. A proof of practicality with promising electrical execution is as of now showed [3]. The general procedure will be performed at low temperature ( The point of this undertaking is to play out a savvy selector gadget good with our assets at 3IT. In this structure, strain impacts are very significant for electronic vehicle in the channel, in other word, switch recurrence and the dependability after some time. Therefore, this significant angle ought to be considered so as to set up the transistor attributes and to satisfy the necessity for the acknowledgment and the application as a memory selector gadget. One of our task targets is to build up a strain strategy perfect with high-k/metal top door setup. Stressed channel ought to be deliberately planned through procedure conditions and gadget geometry. Channel remaining strain impacts Residual strain could be either mechanical/inherent during the film development and upon innovative procedure or warm due the distinctions in extension coefficient between materials or the auto-warming during the gadget activity. an) On transport properties in conductor channel For crystalline silicon channel, the strain in the channel of nanotransistor prompts the extending of particles holding in silicon layer. The relocation of silicon iotas can decreases the effect of nuclear powers that meddle with the electrons development and debilitate dispersing marvels permitting lower obstruction and better versatility (cf. fig II.1). Charge transporters can move quicker in the stressed direct bringing about better conductivity and low force utilization. Indeed, stress instigates a change and decadence in the vitality groups level of the silicon particles, causing an anisotropy in compelling mass of electrons. At that point, light mass and negligible disper sing are the primary variables for better portability (Þâ ¼= e㠏„/m*) [1]. Because of this anisotropy, the impact of strain relies upon its course as for the source-channel current way [2]. Then again, the statement procedure of nSi-flimsy film prompts remaining strain in the layer (tractable or compressive). For instance, it was accounted for that the conductance of the formless material a-Si: H divert in TFT transistor increments with ductile pressure while it decline with compressive one [3].In our nc-SiFET gadget, channel comprises on disengaged nc-Si 50nm-length and under 20nm-thick island saved and designed utilizing a blend of e-shaft lithography and ICP-carving process. This divert inserted in nanopattern experience a warm toughening and Ti metal statement previously (CMP) cleaning process prompting limited island from both side of the metal nanowires. Dielectric entryway layers (Si 3 N 4 ) or high-k separator (HfO 2 , Al 2 O 3 ) can be joined on the highest poin t of the structure in our procedure followed by door testimony. In our task, metals materials can be kept utilizing dissipation or faltering procedures, though, dielectric layers can be manufactured by PECVD, LPCVD, faltering or ALD.

Philosophy Ancient Civilization in Darwinism Period - 1100 Words

Philosophy: Ancient Civilization in Darwinism Period (Essay Sample) Content: PhilosophyNameInstitutionProfessorCourseDateIntroductionPhilosophy is a discipline that uses reasoning to acquire knowledge rather than through experience and evolution is the gradual change that occurs in a pattern in an advanced form. This study explains the work of Darwin about species, their origin, and survival adversely. It was based on observation and study that the species were changing in the pattern, thereby the term evolution. However, his study is criticized by views that there was a lack of recognition in secrecy. This seemed to be completely unethical religiously to the communities existing as the reasoned that he did not respect their views and beliefs. Darwin used the process of insemination to explain how specific traits could result in evolution.Ancient civilization in Darwinism periodThe civilization entails economic, political, sociological, historical and scientific aspects, which any given society composes of for independent and proper running of the resources in that certain society and its development. The uses of advanced modern technology adversely affect how the people think and do activities thus affecting the ways of the society wholly.Regardless of the scientific knowledge being proven to ease the workloads, there are always critics as there is a conservatism that still adheres to the old ways of thinking and doing things. Religiously, the faith and existence of sacred beings are challenged. Scientifically, ancient philosophers are disowned and economically, advanced science improves standards either personally or nationally. An invention, in one way or another, leads to conflicts and threats as the world is survival thus a philosopher would go against another either seeking to instill truthful knowledge or for self-gains. This happens in order to create a balance between the population and nature. Threats formed tend to affect political stability and self-maintenance.Modernism in relation to Darwins theoryDarwins th eory led to the creation of elements from other through nuclear reactions. The science of transmutation of species led to conflict with the church as it taught that all human beings were unique, ignoring Darwins theory that human beings had heredity traits and were linked to animals. There were arguments that species evolved through the impact of laws of nature. Due to the dispute over the origin of human species, there arose organizations such as the British Association for the Advancement of Science, which held meetings in order to debate which source of the origin was more equipped.Politically, he objected some ideas such as unethical business practices and oppression and aggression by the men of law and order, especially the military people. He reasoned that all human beings had a common origin thus were supposed to share and practice moral responsibilities. Religiously, the church did not support him as he claimed common ancestry with animals, whereas according to church; anima ls were considered beings that lack soul and moral qualities. In the modern world, the theory helps in explaining how living things adapt to their habitations.Basic arguments in Evolutionary TheoryAccording to Charles Darwin, living species reproduce in order to generate future generations and to increase their chances of survival. Every species is fertile and reproduce their off springs. One of his main ideas was proved that the existing species had not been created in separate ways. As he was already aware that others were knowledgeable about the transmutation of species, he ridiculed in his writings that there existed natural selection caused by the struggle to survive and other factors. Due to the limited resources relied on for survival; some of the species had to die in order to create some balance between the resources and the population. Specific organisms are suitable for specific environments. Failure to that, the probability of surviving and reproducing is liable. However , this theory does not demand that natural selection must occur and if it occurs, it occurs spontaneously (Darwin, 1859).The other argument was against the existence of an all-powerful being (God). He expressed this by strongly opposing Parleys view that there is a creator or the universe and who watches over it. Secondly, he rejects the book of Genesis in the Bible as history that happened ages ago. Thirdly, he does not believe in Christian miracles while lastly, according to him, natural selection counts for both happiness and misery. It is factual that evolution is only a theory and not scientific, which makes Darwins work is not proven to be true neither is it testable. According to Darwin, the logical form of evolving changes in relation to the conditioned environment, which determines...

Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, Honorable members of the Congress, dear friends†¦Ã¢â‚¬ so begins Pope Francis’ speech addressing a joint session of Congress. Formally addressing his audience to begin his speech, and acknowledging the â€Å"land of the free and the home of the brave,† he received warm applause from the congress-people. The Pope’s intro then calls those listening to our shared responsibility for the common good, therefore setting up the rest of his speech nicely. Reading the speech directly from the paper caused the speaker to have lack of eye contact, though parts of the speech he was particularly passionate about he tended to look up more. Additionally, the pacing was slow. This pacing may have been due to the Pope’s heavy accent, needing to go slow to have good pronunciation and diction. Severa l times throughout the speech the Pope had awkward phrasings and incorrect grammar, for example, â€Å"I want to dialogue with those†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Especially when having the entire speech written out, the speaker should eliminate these awkward phrases. Themes in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys Essay examples

Themes in Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys The main themes in Wide Sargasso Sea are slavery and entrapment, the complexity of racial identity and womanhood or feminism. In all of these themes the main character who projects them are Antoinette and Christophine. The theme slavery and entrapment is based on the ex- slaves who worked on the sugar plantations of wealthy Creoles figure prominently in Part One of the novel, which is set in the West Indies in the early nineteenth century. Although the Emancipation Act has freed the slaves by the time of Antoinettes childhood, compensation has not been granted to the islands black population, breeding hostility and resentment between servants and their white employers. Annette,†¦show more content†¦In this manner, power structures based on race always appear to be on the brink of reversal. The theme of womanhood intertwines with issues of enslavement and madness in Rhyss novel. Ideals of proper feminine deportment are presented to Antoinette when she is a girl at the convent school. Two of the other Creole girls, Miss Germaine and Helene de Plana, embody the feminine virtues that Antoinette is to learn and emulate: namely, beauty, chastity and mild, even-tempered manners. Mother St. Justines praises of the poised and imperturbable sisters suggest an ideal of womanhood that is at odds with Antoinettes own hot and fiery nature. Indeed, it is Antoinettes passion that contributes to her melancholy and implied madness. Rhys selected the first decade of 19th century as the best possible period in which her novel would take place. The story is set just after the emancipation of the slaves, in that uneasy time when racial relations in the Caribbean were at their most strained. So, the combination of the period used the themes exposed by Rhys go hand in hand, being the themes a consequence of the period used to manifest such themes. They both are relevant to one another and will be as far as this novel goes. The main symbols that are identified are a bird, forest, trees, and her garden at Coulibri Estate. Journal The Australasian Nurses Association â€Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Journal Of The Australasian Nurses Association? Answer: Introducation The council is a governmental organization that was formed in the year 2010 after the dismantling of the Nurses and Midwifes Board. The boards mission is to protect public safety and maintain professional standards through the effective regulation of nurses and midwives and the development of collaborative relationships. To achieve its mission, the organization is responsible for assisting and managing around 14 professional councils in NSW. The council also works hand in hand with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission to manage any complaints reported about the NSW health practitioners as well as the registered students in the health practitioner program. According to Scanlon et al, 2016, the council helps the health nurses and midwifes to implement the laws, work ethics and quality standards in their profession as much as possible. The main objective of this council is to increase the nurses or midwives trust and confidence in their work areas. Professional Accountability Of Nurses And Midwives Some of the activities that the nurse on duty from 1700HRS on 11 January 2013 should have done are: To make frequent check-ups on the patients health condition. This would have helped the nurse to realize the immediate changes of the patients condition. According to the nurses rules and laws, there should be thorough, frequent but regular and effective patient check-ups (Benton et al, 2013). The nurse should not have taken too much time to check patients As condition. For instance, patient As condition worsened after 20minutes but it took almost one hour to notify the nurse. The longer it took, the worse the conditions became. The nurse should have recorded and documented the patients condition after observation (Kingwell et al, 2017). This means that the nurse had no point of reference if she were asked to provide evidence or if she wanted to refer the patient to the doctor. The nurse failed to notify the doctor about the patients condition early enough (Foley et al, 2017). This was against the rules and laws governing the hospital especially the shifts that take place from 1720HRS that states that a doctor should be notified when a patients health condition worsens especially from 1720HRS and beyond. The Nurse therefore failed to notify patient As doctor which against the hospital rules. The patient failed to make a plan of action for patient A, even after observing that her condition was worsening. The lack of plan to improve patient As health condition led to its deterioration and later death. The nurse should have come up with a plan to manage the patients health condition to avoid it from deteriorating (Ross et al, 2017). During her shift, the nurse decided to wait for the doctor to arrive even when she knew that patient As condition was becoming worse. The nurse knew that it would be long before the doctor arrived to check on the patients (during his normal working hours) but she still waited until he arrived. The doctor did not have any idea about the patients condition at that time, courtesy of the nurse on duty. Apart from failing to notify the doctor, she did not try to make the patients condition better. She failed to make the patient feel comfortable and better which is one issue that led to further and faster deterioration hence death. Professional Standards Breached Just like any other profession, the Nurse and Midwife practice has created and implemented some work ethics and standards that govern their profession. These standards are however made by the NMBD organizations. These standards are meant to guide and direct the nurses and midwives towards effective and proficient practice and competency (Fisher, 2017). The following are some of the standards that were breached in the case study: Standards Guiding Plan Development This standard relates to the ability of a nurse to develop a plan of action during the practice to help the patient get better. The plan is supposed to focus on ways and methods to improve the health condition of the patient. Also, the standard expects this plan to be documented and communicated to other people responsible e.g. doctors or other nurses. The nurse on duty from 1700HRS on 11th January 2013 failed to create a plan for patient A, even after she observed her condition deteriorating. This was a breach of standards which later led to the death of the patient. Standards to Guide Assessment Conduction The purpose of this standard is to ensure that patient assessment and observations are frequent and regular. The nurse should ensure that patient check-ups are comprehensive and right. The assessments made by nurses should be used to create a plan to improve the patients health before the doctors assessment (Cashin et al, 2015). However, in the case study, the nurse failed to make frequent and regular check-ups for the patient. Additionally, there was a situation where the nurse was informed about the condition instead of her observing it on her own. By failing to do this, the nurse missed out on the progression of the patients condition hence poor judgment. Standards Guiding Critical Thinking and Analysis This standards are responsible for ensuring that the nurse is capable of thinking critically during her working hours. This standard values a nurses level of appraising and developing herself professionally as well as her value for providing practice evidence (Cashin et al, 2017). It certainly revolves around ensuring that every nurses activities, observations and assessments are recorded and documented. In the case study, the nurse failed to document her observations on the patient when she assessed her. The nurse failed to create a plan to improve her condition. All of these things should have been documented for reference in future or as evidence that the nurse did all she could. Frequent and regular observations Every nurse should always be well updated and aware of their patients condition. This can be achieved by ensuring that there are frequent and regular observations, assessments and check-ups made. However, the nurse in the case study failed do any of these and instead, she made just one observation. Increase of engagement level The nurses should ensure that their patients are well engaged but in a professional way. They should use their skills and knowledge to create some conversation with patients. This is proven to be an indirect way to improve a patients health and could have worked for the patient in the case study. Observation Documentation Whenever an observation, an assessment or a check-up is done, the nurse should ensure that they record and document the details or results for future reference or as evidence. This was done by the nurse in the case study which showed poor or ineffective clinical reasoning. Personal attributes Every nurse or midwife is supposed to have certain personal and interpersonal attributes that help them cope during in their work. Most of these attributes should involve skills like sympathy, accountability, critical thinking, innovative skills and ability to solve problems among others (Casey et al, 2017). The nurse in case study failed to reflect on her actions or even sympathize with the patient which led to her failure to act effectively. Lessons Learnt From the case study, I have learnt that it is important for a nurse or midwife to be well prepared about the profession and the responsibility that is to be installed on his/her shoulders. The nurses are the ones entirely responsible for taking care of the hospital patients after they are treated by the doctors. This means that they are the people to determine whether the patients condition improves or not (Vogt, 2015). The care aspect of my choice is to conduct patient observations and check-ups. I will be able to evaluate and understand a patients progress and condition with every observation. In this aspect, I will be able to interact with the patients professionally by making small talks. Through this, I will be able to achieve other aspects like engagement and therapeutic relationships with patients, come up with a plan to help improve the patients condition as well as record the patients results and document them. Generally, I can say this is the best care practice option because it will help me achieve most of the other care activities of a nurse. Conclusion In the case study, the nurse failed to implement her skills and knowledge effectively and efficiently, i.e. she failed to carry out most of the crucial activities of a nurse on duty. The nurse did not observe patient A as she should, failed to record and document the results from the one observation made and failed to inform the doctor about the patients condition. This indicates that there was malpractice which led to the patients death. Such incidences may also lead to court or legal conditions to be followed which may lead to jail sentence. Therefore, it is clear that every nurse or midwife should follow and adhere to the standards set by their organizations from them to be successful in their profession. References Benton, D. Who Is Jesus Christ and What Is His Mission to the World Essay Example

Who Is Jesus Christ and What Is His Mission to the World Essay The Great Gatsby Jay Gatsby tries to â€Å"repeat the past† with tragic results. The novels narrator Nick Carraway tries to explain to Gatsby that he can’t repeat the past, but Gatsby states, â€Å"of course you can, old sport† (Fitzgerald). Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby met in Louisville. Before he left to fight in World War I he fell in love with Daisy. Right before he left Daisy promised to wait for Gatsby until his return. While waiting for Gatsby’s return Daisy fell in love with Tom Buchanan and soon married into his great wealth.Jay Gatsby wanted to repeat his past so that he could restructure his life until it was perfect rather than accepting his past for what it had been. He explains to Nick that he is going to fix everything just the way it was before (Fitzgerald). Gatsby tries to repeat his past by throwing huge lit up parties at his mansion on Saturdays in hoping for Daisy’s return. Parties in which only few were invited to, people weren ’t actually invited they just somehow ended up there. Between all the partying and the hopes for Daisy, Gatsby never found her.At night he would go out and look for the green flashing light at the end of Daisy’s dock, longing for her and reaching out for her everlasting love. He found out that his next door neighbor Nick Carraway had connection with Daisy. Gatsby invites Nick to lunch so that they could get to know one another. He informs Nick on his past about being in love with Daisy the woman of his dreams and then getting called to fight in World War I. Gatsby tells Jordan (Nick’s girlfriend) to try and convince Nick to invite Daisy over to his house for lunch.Gatsby’s plans was to get her to Nick’s house so that he could show her his huge mansion, knowing that she would be blinded by all the rich and high class of Jay. After lunch with Daisy, Jay was certain that he was winning her back over. According to Nick Daisy and Tom are insulated by we alth and the mores of restraint and gesture (Bloom’s Guide). But there was only one thing Gatsby needed Daisy to do, â€Å"He wanted nothing less of Daisy than that she should go to Tom and say: ‘I never loved you. ’† (Fitzgerald) The results that Jay hopes to get was nothing and no one but Daisy.Gatsby loved Daisy from the beginning. Jay hoped that after showing Daisy his big mansion she would come back. He hoped that just maybe she would trip and fall back in love with him, little did he know a child was holding her back from what he could’ve almost had. Gatsby hoped that Daisy would tell Tom she didn’t love him in hopes that he would leave her so that she could come back to him. Tom Buchanan found out about the affair that was going on between Daisy and Gatsby. Although Tom was committing the same type of wrong with Myrtle.Tom wasn’t having Jay and Daisy having an affair. Tom’s jealousy of Gatsby arises more from his feeling violated by a person of a lower station than out of any real concern for his own wife (Bloom’s Guide). While Gatsby and Daisy was coming home one evening they got into a car accident killing Myrtle, Toms â€Å"secret† lady. Although Daisy was driving the car Gatsby decided to take blame for the accident. Myrtle’s husband Wilson goes out on a hunt to find the one who killed his wife. He found out that Jay Gatsby was the driver. Wilson headed out to find Gatsby.Gatsby was out in his pool when Wilson came and took a bullet to Jay’s head. Not long after Wilson shot Gatsby he turned the gun on himself. In the end, the life that he was longing for ended in great tragic. Nick tried to convince him in the novel that repeating the past was near impossible to do, Jay Gatsby just could not see that repeating his past with Daisy was going to be so much. Gatsby thought that having a huge mansion and lots of money would bring Daisy back to him for the fact he knew she attracted to the wealth of the high class. He knew that she was blinded by the money. But when you’ve got an object such as a child in Daisy’s case it is hard to see what is really best for you. In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book The Great Gatsby Jay Gatsby tries to â€Å"repeat the past† little did he know it would all end in a complete disaster. So it’s true that you really can’t repeat your past no matter how hard you try. Five years might have not seemed like a long time to Gatsby but five years was long enough for Daisy to fall in love with someone else.Although Gatsby tried his hardest to win Daisy back over, life ended with tragic that could have been prevented. But stubborn Gatsby just wouldn’t give up the fight until either someone did it for him or he had Daisy.

Women Vs. Men In The Work Force Essays - Sexism, Free Essays

Women Vs. Men In The Work Force Essays - Sexism, Free Essays Women vs. Men in the Work Force In Mrs. Burrows? seventh grade English class, I wrote a paper entitled Women vs. Men in the Work Force. I researched for weeks and weeks to get all of the information I could on pay differences, percentages of working women and what jobs they were doing. In 1988, my paper focused on sexual discrimination and the wage difference. For example, in 1998, ?women received 63% of the pay men received for the same job.? I remember finding that out and asking my dad why that was happening. My father, parent of two daughters who instructed them never to be dependent on a man, did not have a good explanation for this inequality. Sexual discrimination was just starting to be a hot topic in 1988. Here is my favorite quote from my paper: ?Sixty-two percent of working women who are employed full-time believe that discrimination prevents them from getting top jobs in business and government. Sexual discrimination seems to occur the most. For example, one female executive on her way to the top told of how she fought back. She and some of her male colleagues were in a business meeting when they started to kid her about her short skirts. In reaction to their joking, she put a shapely leg up onto the table and asked her challenger whether or not he saw anything wrong with it. This unusual comeback won her points from her adversaries. Women who have reached top corporate positions have said that getting used to such joking is one of the hardest problems to overcome in an executive job.? Joking is one of the hardest problems to overcome in an executive job? It seems so trivial compared to issues such as the slowly shrinking wage gap, new family-friendly company benefits, and the ever popular catch phrase the ?glass-ceiling?. I have found that the three P?s are main issues for today?s working woman trying to have it all. The three P?s are Pay, Position and Parenting. I. Pay Despite the fact that the Equal Pay Act was signed more than 35 years ago, full-time working women between the ages of 25 and 35 earn only 84% of the weekly earnings of men their age. Alexis Herman, Secretary of the US Department of Labor, has the following to say: ?This generation of women has invested greatly in education, returned quickly to the labor force after child birth, held more full time jobs and sought more nontraditional jobs than any in our nation?s history. Their mere presence in the labor force has transformed our work culture, spurred new industries, and infused the nation?s labor force with a ready supply of educated and skilled workers. It is difficult to imagine our nation?s economy without them.? Indeed, working women have come a long way since 1963 when the wage gap stood at 59%. In 1997, the ratio was down to 26%. The expansion of the female labor force in the 1960?s and 1970?s largely reflected the entry of married women into the labor force, especially those with children. In 1960, only a quarter of married women with children worked or was looking for work. By 1975, 44% of married mothers were in the labor force. The numbers of women graduating form college and graduate school grew as well. In 1960, 35% of all bachelors and first professional degrees were awarded to women. By 1975, 45% of all bachelors? degrees went to women. Women?s? rising level of education and experience in the labor market, and their growing share of better-paying managerial and professional jobs have been critical in increasing women?s real earnings during the 1980?s and maintaining their level during the 1990?s. Yet, even with these good-paying jobs, women?s average earnings have not reached thos e of men. 1997 Bureau of Labor Statistics has weekly wage data showing that women earned less than men in 99% of all occupations for which data is available. I have had first hand experience with this wage gap. Recently, our small electrical contracting firm (about 15 office employees and 120 field employees) hired the president?s brother, Jim, to perform purchasing and accounts payable tasks. He had worked in the warehouse of one of

Graphic Designing for the Color Blind Research Paper

Graphic Designing for the Color Blind - Research Paper Example People with color blindness cannot see either red/green shades or blue yellow shades. The completely color-blind or the monochromatic kind could only see gray. Here, the color confusion must be taken into account. According to Robert Hess (2000), the most common form of color blindness is the weakness in the sensitivity to the color green. Cases may vary as to how color-blind people are confused with colors. It is useful therefore, to know information such as how the green-blind selects opposite shades, which appear lighter than red while the red-blind chooses besides the red, green and brown shades. And so, what must be done is that to convert a graphic design work’s color palette into a palette of colors that can be accurately seen by color-blind audience. When instructing a person through colors or the graphic design relies on colors for cues, say, â€Å"Choose green to continue and red to stop,† then color-blind people see shades that do not correspond to their visual conception of those colors, then serious problem arises. Furthermore, in creating a color-palette for a color-blind friendly graphic design, one could consider the relative tonal values of adjacent colors. People that have forms of color-blindness, wrote Keith Martin, usually develop a greater sensitivity to tonal changes. For instance, a pink image could be made a bit brighter when set in a dark background so the color-blind audience could distinguish color elements better. â€Å"It’s only when the relative contrasts are too similar that separating colors become difficult.† (p. 28) For this factor, one could refer to the traditional color wheel for help. If one looks at the color wheel chart, one sees the primary and secondary colors. Besides this, however, and most important for the subject of this paper, is the fact that it is easier to identify color contrasts from the wheel. One could easily select opposites because they provide

Volcanoes and Global Cooling Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Volcanoes and Global Cooling - Essay Example The essay "Volcanoes and Global Cooling" talks about the climate changes, the effects of greenhouse gasses blamed for the global warming experienced in the world today. However, little attention has been given to the impacts of volcanic eruptions on climate change. Gray observed from the past volcanic reactions that the gaseous emissions released to the stratosphere particularly the sulfur dioxide can cause global cooling, which has the potential of impacting negatively on the climate. At the same time, the carbon dioxide released, being a greenhouse gas, also has the potential of enhancing global warming. The impacts of volcanic erupt on climate change have triggered intense debate over the past few years, according to Self and Rampino. However, based on the past eruptions, scientists have discovered that the eruptions release gasses that later on causes global cooling. According to Self and Rampino, climatologists have discovered that the sulfur dioxide released from the eruptions is what is responsible for the global cooling. In the stratosphere, sulfur particles block the incoming radiation warming the stratosphere thereby reducing the amount of incoming radiation effectively cooling the troposphere. According to Self and Rampino, during powerful volcanic eruptions, sulfur dioxide is released into the stratosphere, where it is oxidized and mixed with water vapor to form sulfuric acid. The process, according to scientists takes about one month while the particles formed have a lifetime of up to three years. The sulfate aerosols formed prevents radiation from reaching the earthâ€⠄¢s surface thereby resulting in global cooling. Self and Rampino note that past volcanic eruptions have lowered the earth’s average temperatures by up to half a degree for a period of up to one to three years (75). Benjamin Franklin is arguably the first scientist to notice the effects of volcanic eruptions on climatic change. According to Mass and Portman, Benjamin Franklin first noticed ‘dry fog’ in the summer of 1783 during his visit to Europe (566). Additionally, he observed during the winter that followed that Europe was abnormally cold. It is then that he suggested that the abnormally cold weather witnessed during the winter was the result of volcanic eruption. According to Mass and Portman, research conducted years later showed that the Laki Volcano in Iceland had indeed erupted in 1783 (566). Later on in 1816, Europe again experienced abnormally cold summer, when the year was nicknamed â€Å"Year without Summer† (Borowski par.3). Research conducte d discovered that the cool summer was the result of a great eruption that occurred on the Mt. Tambora in Indonesia a year before (Borowski par.3). Additionally, in 1883, peculiar colors and halos were observed around the sun and moon accompanied with vibrant sunrises and sunsets. According to Mass and Portman, the occurrence was the result of the eruption of Krakatau volcano in Indonesia in July 1883 (567). Study showed that the eruption of Krakatau had other world consequences, which included the loss of about 20-30% of direct solar radiation for three consecutive years after the eruption. This resulted in a very prolonged cooling effect in most parts of Europe and Asia. The climatologists also noted the strong evidence of the volcanic eruptions on climate change following 1982’s strong eruption of El Chichon in Mexico (Mass and Portman 569). Like Krakatau, the eruption of El Chichon released large quantities of dust, carbon dioxide, ash, and sulfur dioxide into the stratosp her

The Handmaids Tale - Social Situation :: Handmaids Tale Essays

The Handmaids Tale - Social Situation Margaret Atwood's novel The Handmaids Tale belongs to the genre of anti-utopian (dystopian) science fiction where we read about a woman's fictive autobiography of a nightmarish United States at the end of the twentieth century when democratic institutions have been violently overthrown and replaced by the new fundamentalist republic of Gilead. In the novel the majority of the population are suppressed by using a "Bible-based" religion as an excuse for the suppression. How does this work and why can the girls, the so called Handmaids, be considered the victims of society? Also, in what way does Gilead use biblical allusions? That is some of the questions this essay will give answers for. To begin with the so called Handmaids are girls who have only one purpose in life which is to reproduce. They are women who when have reached the age and maturity to reproduce have been taken to Gilead where they are tattooed with four digits and an eye (Gilead's tattoo which works as a passport in reverse) which immobilises them, in contrast to the winged male eye which is the state symbol. Then they are re-educated at the so called Red-centre, the name emphasises female sexuality and how they are taught there can be linked with brainwashing. They are told how lucky they should feel because they have been saved from the primitive and cruel outside world where women are being raped and maltreated. Other things they learn are numerous sayings and mottos of the Red-centre like "Pen is Envy" which is based on a Freudian psychoanalytic theory which presents "penis envy" as an essential element of femininity, and a mark of "woman's natural inferiority to men". So knowing this, are they actually better of in Gilead? There they are "valued only in terms of their biological usefulness as child bearers" due to that the birth rate in the society has fallen to a catastrophically low level because of deadly pollution and sexually transmitted diseases which cause sterility and infertility. They are known by their Commanders first names, Of -(name of commander), this to underline their function as sexual objects without individuality. Moreover, apart from being deprived their own names Handmaids are also deprived legal rights.
